July 2: #2 of 30/30 Poems

Taking men apart / by Risa Denenberg

The chest and belly of a man! —James Baldwin, Another Country

The frenulum that binds the tongue to the mouth-cave, arresting language. The philtrum that pouts a spot of rattling beauty to call forth sexual arousal. Eyelashes, long and curly, those masterful backdrops for deep-set eyes. Tiny nipples surrounded by dark areolae that get hard with excitement. Mannaries that are firm, but not too firm, under a tight shirt. Plump veins that run like itinerant rivers along muscled arms. Glutes that are perfect melons, jiggling like two adolescent knockers. And the bulge behind the zipper? Simply that thing between their legs.
