I had to make up for what I found to be a disappointing movie earlier this week (Tree of Life), by going to see Beginners yesterday. Again, at the Grand Cinema in Tacoma Wa, which I repeat is a non-profit cinema charging $6.50 (there are some perks to living in Tacoma).
It didn’t disappoint. It reminded me that we are all beginners. We can start over any time we get ready. We can proceed without maps if need be. We can overcome our fear of failure and rejection. Our childhoods do not define us. We are not sewn fast to garments of the past. We can break free. Not just provisionally, but in actuality. I hope this is true. For me. And especially for you.
